The Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies, Mr Solly Malatsi, will host a Policy Colloquium to convene government, industry, regulators, academia and civil society for a collaborative engagement on priority reforms across the ICT sector.
This forms part of the Minister’s ongoing commitment to consult widely with stakeholders to set a policy agenda that keeps up with the evolution of the sector.
The colloquium takes place at a pivotal moment for the sector, with active policy processes shaping markets, investment and consumer outcomes—including work on the Equity Equivalent Investment Programme (EEIP), the Draft White Paper on Audio & Audiovisual Media Services and Online Content Safety, a national AI Policy framework, and the need for a sustainable SABC funding model. It will also consider how to deepen strategic private partnerships and collaboration with DCDT entities.
With a focus on inclusive digital access, infrastructure, innovation, market trust and industrial growth, this dialogue will help shape key policy, legislative and regulatory interventions.
