PROGRAMME 4: ICT ENTERPRISE AND PUBLIC ENTITY OVERSIGHT


The purpose of this Programme is to oversee and manage government’s shareholding interest in the ICT public entities and state-owned companies.

It comprises the following sub-programmes:
  1. Regulatory Institutions;
  2. Universal Service and Access;

PROGRAMME 3: ICT POLICY DEVELOPMENT AND RESEARCH 


The purpose of this Programme is to develop ICT policies and legislation that support the development of an ICT sector that creates favorable conditions for the accelerated and shared growth of the economy. Develop strategies that create the uptake and usage of ICT by the majority of the South African population, thus bridging the digital divide.

It comprises the following sub-programmes:

  1. ICT Policy Development;
  2. Economic and Market Analysis;
  3. Small, Medium and Micro Enterprise;
  4. Research;
  5. Broadcasting Policy;
  6. Presidential Commission on 4IR; and

The purpose of this Programme is to position South Africa as a digital technological infrastructure and innovation hub leading on digital transformation to contribute to the digital economy.

  3. Programme Management for International Relations and Affairs.

4.2 All reasonable steps will be taken to secure a user's information. Authorised employees, who are responsible for the maintenance of any sensitive data submitted, are required to maintain the confidentiality of such data. The policy applies to all employees of the Department of Communications and Digital Technologies or public bodies that may receive such information from the Department of Communications and Digital Technologies.
